ATS Automation
SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEERING, CAMBRIDGE, ON

Prevention: Lead the identification and preemptive prevention of risks on multimillion dollar projects.
Design: Assited in the brainstorming and simulation of multimillion dollar project proposals.
Analysis: Designed and lead tests plans to collect data. Analysed data to extract useful information.

September 2021 - December 2021

Lumentum
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEERING, OTTAWA, ON

Design: Independently designed multiple manufacturing jig assemblies using solid edge, consisting of parts made by mill, lathe, 3D printer and sheet metal.
Design: Drafted drawings and worked with vendors to find the most cost-effective method to manufacture different components.
Design: Efficiently designed and tested useful prototypes in a time efficient manner using parts personnally machined.

Jan 2021 - April 2021

Centerline
WELD ENGINEERING, WINDSOR, ON

Analysis: Designed cutting edge resistance welding schedules to resistance weld difficult to weld materials.
Design: Designed a multitude of jigs, safety enclosures and loading pins quickly for different applications.
Programming: Independently coded multiple macros programs saving the company 100's of dollars in saved time.

May 2020 - August 2020

Linamar
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, ONTARIO, ON

Design: Designed and implemented a bullet style locating pin with easily exchangeable pins saving the company hundreds of dollars a year in damage reductions. Worked to design and construct an enclosure including a laser sensor to distinguish between parts by comparing step heights quicker than expected deadline. Designed a multitude of small plates and fixtures to reduce damages and make the line more efficient.
Analysis: Operated a multimillion dollar CMM (Coordinate monitoring machine) machine to extract data on gears. Analysed data and proposed reports to Honda based on the accuracy of the gears.
Programming: Took initiative to create a database in excel utilizing vba modules to store and categorize damaged part information. Obsoleted the need for paper Material Review Board tags.

Sept 2019 - Dec 2019

Tigercat
ENGINEERING SERVICES, PARIS, ON

Solidworks: Developed a robust understanding of SolidWorks and PDM. Was performing at a level on par with full time Tigercat employees - solving over 300 engineering related ticket problems in 4 months.
Leadership: Lead a small team to organize and move offline files online. Including PDM dispatch coding, part modelling and updating drawing references.
Programming: Coded dispatch programs to be utilized in PDM to save 100's of hours of works. Coded batch files to automate the tediuos processes such as renaming 1000's of files'

Jan 2019 – April 2019

UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO
MECHATRONICS TEACHING ASSISTANT, WATERLOO, ON

Design: Successfully designed, 3D printed, and secured a motor mount and housing to a subaquatic Remotely Operated Vehicle allowing it to rise laterally while sacrificing minimal forward thrust.
Independent Work: Trusted to work independently on multiple different projects including monitoring 3rd year projects and cadding a third year Mechatronics project.

Extracurricular Experience

F.R.C. Team DAVE
Lead Electrical, Build and Design Mentor

• Assumed a project managment role. Leading design decisions for the robot as well as overseeing and instructing College aged mentors and high school students through the manufacturing and assembly of a 140 lbs robot. Lead the team to a successful showing, finishing in the top 50 in the world out of over 3,300 teams.

January 2022 - Current

F.R.C. Team Celt-X
Build and Design Mentor

• Worked in a large(~50) group consiting of engineers and high school students to design, manufacture and assemble a 140 pound robot within a strict 3 month deadline. Lead the design of an "intake" mechanism to intake dodge balls from the floor without jamming. Assisted and lead the fabrication of parts on lathes, C.N.C mills and other common shop tools. Worked to balance school with a 40+ hour weekly commitment to the team.

Sept 2020 - Jan 2022

F.R.C. Team Dave
Operator, Human Player and Build Student

• Worked to balance high school with a 40+ hour commitment to the team. Gained valuable machine shop experince as well as good teamwork abilities. Showed promminent leadership and was hand selected to join the drive team out of 40 other candidates. Learned about common enginnering concepts such as gear ratios, pneumatics and 3-D printing.

June 2014 – June 2018

University of Waterloo Submarine Team

• Worked alongside a group of other Waterloo Engineers. Assumed a leadership role and worked to help improve the teams in aspects of storage naming conventions, and material selections. Design a fixture so that a servo motor could be mounted to rotate the rudder of the submarine.
